Story x Design

Aug 17, 2017 @ 7 p.m. in San Francisco

Story is an essential part of human history. It’s how we’ve passed record, emotion, and beliefs down from generation to generation. In design, we use the power of storytelling to set vision and motivate teams around a common goal. In daily life, we tell stories to entertain, teach, and immortalize our heroes. In this episode of Designers + Geeks, we’ll explore the power of storytelling with Tim Lilis, cofounder of Primer Stories and Megan Jones, audio producer with David Sedaris, The Moth, among an extensive portfolio of work.

Tim Lillis
Co-Founder of Primer Stories
Tim Lillis is a partner and cofounder at Primer Stories, a visual storytelling website with DNA spliced from comics, podcasts, magazine articles, and documentaries. Their the goal is to expand the interactive medium in the same way that podcasts did for radio and TED talks did for speaking engagements. Using animation, illustration, and photography, they illuminate such topics as the urban air rights trade, hidden gold, grave-robbing, and the birth and death of the solar system. They spun off the for-hire studio Primer&Co. in 2016 and recently published an interactive project for the International Committee of the Red Cross.
