In this talk, we'll discuss designing across cultures with Yiying Lu of NYU Shanghai Program of Creativity and Innovation, Pablo Stanley of Dreamer Stories, and Tristan Gribbin of Flow VR.
Yiying is going to share her branding design, illustration and typography projects from a multicultural & linguistic aspect. She will showcase and talk about her cross cultural design practices for many global companies and organizations such as Disney, Twitter, China Australia Millennial Project and so on. Join Yiying on a journey of exploring creativity within cross cultural communication in the age of globalization.
Tristan Gribbin will discuss her journey in developing VR-based meditation platforms in Iceland, thinking about cultural barriers in both VR and meditation to scale this new technology. This talk will include a guided meditation to help you transport into the shoes of FLOW users.
Pablo Stanley will be sharing a new body of work called Dreamer Stories in which he profiles American Dreamers who are facing some of the biggest challenges with pending DACA repeal. In this project, Pablo explores the human stories through a collection of illustrated portraits and personal narrative. In a time of political crisis, designing across cultures is more important than ever before. Join us for an art showing and lecture!
